A family farmhouse of three generations, in the heart of the Cerdanya. Good days start here.
We are the third generation to live here. Our grandparents were farmers in Sanavastre: they bought and renovated this house together with the paller (the old hayloft), where they used to keep the livestock below and the dry hay above — where the apartment is now. When we stopped keeping livestock here, because we set up a farm on the outskirts of the village, our grandfather began to imagine how to turn that old paller, witness to generations of work in the fields, into a unique rural stay.

In 2021, a year after our grandfather passed away, we decided to start the renovation. We did not quite know how to go about it, but we had this idea very clearly in mind. That is why we kept original elements: the old cow racks are now part of the balcony on the second floor, and the ceiling beams are the same ones that watched generations of farm work.
Mas de la Plaça has two different accommodations, depending on how many of you there are.

La Trapa is not just the village bar: it began as a meeting point for friends, neighbours and people who have just arrived. Generations mixing and sharing stories. A place to start the day with a coffee, where vermouths stretch on without anyone checking the clock, and above all where there is always an excuse to come back.
But that was not enough. Today La Trapa also travels: we have a food truck that we load up and take wherever there is a party, and you will find us at village festivals and events across the Cerdanya with a drinks bar, sandwiches and grilled meat — botifarrades included.
You can also find what we produce in our region here. Cheeses, milk from the farm and the cured meats of a Sanavastre neighbour who still does the traditional pig slaughter the way it has always been done here.

Sanavastre is a small village in the Baixa Cerdanya, part of the municipality of Das, at 1,081 m above sea level, among meadows and mountains by the river Segre. It has the Romanesque church of Sant Iscle and Santa Victòria, protected as a cultural asset of local interest, and the Palanca suspension bridge, which links the village with All. A few steps from the Mas is our farm, with the cows that are also part of this story. The landscape changes with the season: green in summer, snow-covered in winter.
Sanavastre is a good starting point to discover the Cerdanya on foot, by bike or by car. Here are a few ideas to round off your stay.
